Getting Somewhere

Knitting sideways means, of course, that you knit one of the sleeves first.  I completed that today and did a few inches of the main body.  This grows a lot more slowly because you are effectively knitting up the back and the front at the same time.  I will be able to show it photographically later on in the project but for the moment the circular needle prevents this.

The second photo shows Bethany and Jessica wearing their completed cardigans which I knitted them for their birthdays in December and November respectively.  This does, in fact, give an idea of the overall length that you are knitting when you are knitting over the shoulder - hence the circular needle to hold all the stitches.  The real benefit comes in the making up when the only seems that need to be stitched are the side and sleeve seams.

You may also notice that I have been experimenting with the layout of the page today :-)
