Better progress today

I finished the first mitten today and am currently about halfway up the second one.  I really love the pattern - and the detail on the thumb and palm.  The loose stitch as a result of working with 4 dpns is a bit of a problem in the reverse st.st on the palm.  I have tried to tease it out, but that seems to have almost made it worse (see photos).  I am hoping that washing the pair once they are finished will help.
